June 30, 2009

Today we left South Dakota for Wyoming. We then stopped for the night in Hardin, Montana. Tomorrow morning we will visit The Little Bighorn.

We plan to be at Cousin Dave Palmer's sometime tomorrow. He says we will have elkburgers for dinner--???

Aunt Barb and Aunt Marie pose outside the Crazy Woman Trading Company in Sheridan, Wyoming. We also visited a museum in Sheridan. It must have had 1,000 horse saddles.

Montana View

This is a view of the mountains just after we entered Montana. If you look closely, you can see the snow on some of them. It was 95 degrees where we were at this time.

June 29, 2009

We went to Deadwood today. Marie and Don played Texas Hold 'em. They had fun, but didn't win. The rest of us played the slots, but nobody won there either.

Baba and I visited the Adams Museum and the Train Depot and Visitor Center. We learned a lot about the history of Deadwood.

We leave early tomorrow travelling through Wyoming toward Montana. We have acouple of sites to see along the way to Cousin Dave Palmer's place.

I may not have any connection for several days. We will be staying at Dave's place for a few days. I'll try to call everyone if I can't update the Blog.

I hope everyone is enjoying it so far.

Chicken Dinner?

How many Miller's does it take to fix beer can chicken for dinner? Obviously, at least three plus one Quinn.

The guys started the beer can chicken at 2 o'clock. After moving the cooking chicken twice, it was finally ready at 7 o'clock pm. It was worth the wait. The wind kept blowing out the fire. They say there was no profanity involved, but I am willing to bet that when they dropped all 3 chickens in the pan on the ground that there was some unacceptable language. After all they are Millers.

Black Hills View

This the beautiful view of the Black Hills that we can see from all sides of the camper. If you look closely, you can see all our campers.

June 28, 2009

We went to church at St. Ambrose Church in Deadwood. It was a small church, but the mass was very nice. We had breakfast at the campground. Uncle Bob fixed pancakes and bacon.

The guys (except for poor Don) went to Spearfish Canyon.

The ladies spent the day in the campground except for a very short trip to Wal-Mart. We worked on our quilts while Arlene took care of Don. He was able to come out for a very short time after dinner.

We had Fiesta Chicken, macaroni salad, bread, corn casserole, and pineapple upside down cake for dinner.

Tomorrow we plan to go to Deadwood and hit the slot machines for a little while.

Weather was cool, sunny, with a nice breeze! Perfect.

Boot Hill

Uncle Bill, Uncle Bob, and Baba visited Boot Hill. Their friend Don was sick all day.

Welcome

Welcome to the Miller Blog. Just a few days and we will be leaving for our trip. Those beginning the trip will be Bill and Marie Miller, Bob and Barb Miller, Don and Arlene Quinn and Ron and Karen Miller. We will meet Sunday, June 21 at the Cracker Barrel in Columbus.

We met at Grandpa Miller's tonight to celebrate Father's Day and discuss the trip. Everyone is excited to get started.
