Happy Birthday to my favorite sister, Judy!!
We arrived in Amana, Iowa today at about 1:00 pm. It was 99 degrees when we pulled in the campground. There wasn't a cloud in the sky.
We decided to visit some of the shops in Amana and the have dinner there. We visited a Quilt Shop ( one of the top 10 in the US). We also visited the General Store. Arlene needed to see a dentist so we waited at the Ronneburg Restaurant. We had a few beverages as we waited.
A huge storm came up with 60 mile winds. So we waited it out at the restaurant. We had delicious German food, including beer.
Tomorrow we will return to the Amana Colonies. We want to visit a winery, the museum, the brewery, the woolen mill, a tractor barn, the Amana Church, and the wood shop (hopefully, another quilt shop-the guys just love those!)

It sounds like you are having a great time. Can you take pictures of the quilts? Are they old quilts are newly made? Hand quilted or machine?

The dogs were fine. I think Bear had some fun digging today. No major damage. Leo was fine. Harriet wouldn't come out. The boys and Makenna were with me.
